| DESCRIPTION Vetoxy 10% Injection is a broad spectrum antibiotic, for the treatment in cattle, camels, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs and cats, of bacterial, protozoal and rickettsial diseases caused by organisms sensitive to oxytetracycline.  COMPOSITION Each ml contains: Oxytetracycline ........................................................ 10g (as hydrochloride / sous forme de chlorhydrate) Excipient q.s ............................................................. 100ml PROPERTIES Vetoxy 10% Injection is a clear, yellow-coloured solution with greenish tinge filled in an amber glass vial. Oxytetracycline, the active ingredient is primarily a bacteriostatic antibiotic that exerts its antimicrobial effect by the inhibition of protein synthesis. Vetoxy 10% Injection is effective against a wide range of organisms including the following bacterial, rickettsial & protozoal pathogens common in veterinary medicine: Bacteria: Bacillus, Clostridium, Corynebacterium, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Vibrio, Salmonella, Leptospira, Erysipelas, Vibrio, Mycoplasma, Pasteurella, Brucella, Haemophilus, Shigella, Klebsiella, Fusobacterium, Actinomyces & Actinobacillus spp. It is also effective against E.coli, Listeria monocytogenes, & Moraxella bovis. Rickettsiae: Chlamydia psittaci - Psittacosis Protozoa: Anaplasma spp. INDICATIONS For the treatment in respiratory, gastro-intestinal and septicaemic infections caused by micro-organisms sensitive to oxytetracycline in cattle, camels, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs and cats. It is effective against a wide range of livestock diseases like Pneumonia, dysentery, footrot, shipping fever, blue comb, gastro-enteritis, urogenital-tract infections, Metritis, Mycoplasmosis, Mastitis, Salmonellosis, liver abscesses etc. DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION By slow intravenous or deep intramuscular injection: • 0.5ml - 1ml of Vetoxy 10% Injection per 10kg body weight, per day for 3 days PRECAUTIONS • Do not exceed 20ml per injection site. • Some tissue reaction and discomfort may occur at the injection site. • Occasional sensitivity to Oxytetracycline has been known. In the event of drug allergy (anaphylaxis), administer epinephrine (adrenaline) immediately. WITHDRAWAL PERIODS • Milk: 3 days (6 milkings) • Meat and Offals: 15 days. PRESENTATION
